Scott Balentine, MCR, CLC
Co-Owner, Sales

Scott started his long and successful career in the construction industry in 1993 as a rough-in and finishing carpenter after being discharged from the Army in the Des Moines, Iowa area. He built custom, semi-custom, and spec homes, completed remodeling projects, and earned certifications from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, including his Certified Lead Carpenter certification in 1999 and his Certified Remodeler certification in 2002.

In 2003, Scott and his business partner started Lifestyles Custom Homes and Remodeling, one of Kansas City’s premier residential construction companies. During his tenure, Lifestyles won numerous design, remodeling, and construction awards, including Remodeling Magazine recognized Scott as one of the top 50 remodelers in the nation. In 2013, Scott sold his shares in Lifestyles and moved into the commercial sector of construction.

Scott founded Black Oak Construction in 2015 to offer residential and light commercial services. He applied for and was awarded Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business status in 2016. Black Oak Construction has completed various construction projects for the Veterans Administration and continues to pursue SDVOSB set-aside Federal contracts.

Scott is a leader in the construction industry and has held various positions in the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, including sitting on the Board of Directors, serving as Vice President and President of the Kansas City chapter, and coordinating and managing the 2007 Community Service Project “Operation Soldier Assist” in conjunction with the Kansas City Chapter of AUSA.

Ted Kincaid, CR, CRPM, CLC
Co-Owner, Operations

Ted’s experience in the military and constructing telecom networks have equipped him with the necessary skills to tackle various projects of different shapes and sizes. From military, telecom construction, commercial, and governmental remodeling projects to high-end residential remodeling in the private sector, he has honed his craft and developed a team capable of producing projects of the highest quality.

Ted’s approach to guiding clients through complex projects is to set clear expectations and minimize disruption to the client’s daily routines. He understands the importance of quality craftsmanship and ensures that the results of his team’s work are something clients, and the build team can be proud of.

In his spare time, Ted enjoys spending time with his loved ones and riding his motorcycle to unwind. He is grateful for the people he has met throughout his career and the opportunities that have come his way.
